03. Challenge Stigma:
People living with HIV are not defined by their condition. They are individuals with hopes, dreams, and relationships just like everyone else.

Normal life
People living with HIV can still live normal, healthy lives: HIV is not a death sentence. With proper treatment and care, people living with HIV can maintain good health and live fulfilling lives.

Transmission
It is important to know that HIV is not transmitted through casual contact: HIV cannot be transmitted through casual contact such as shaking hands, hugging, or sharing food.

Discrimination
Stigma and discrimination harm everyone: Stigma and discrimination hurt not only people living with HIV but also their families, friends, and communities.

How can we change our mentality?
- Actuality
- Our Mision
- Awareness
- Hope
HIV is a serious condition that affects millions of people worldwide. Unfortunately, there is still a great deal of misinformation and stigma associated with the disease, leading to discrimination and ostracism of people living with HIV. This stigma can be particularly damaging in smaller communities like Edmonton, where people may not have access to the resources and support they need.
That's why the Positive Light campaign was created. Our goal is to raise awareness and break the stigma around people living with HIV in Edmonton. We want to educate people about the realities of living with HIV and challenge the stereotypes and prejudices that prevent people from seeking care and support.
Living with HIV is not easy. It can be a challenging and isolating experience, and the stigma around the disease can make it even more difficult. People living with HIV often face discrimination and ostracism from their communities, which can make it hard for them to access the care and support they need to manage their condition.
But it doesn't have to be this way. With the right support and understanding, people living with HIV can lead healthy, fulfilling lives. That's why it's so important to break down the stigma around the disease and create a more supportive and inclusive community for everyone.
